My South African Promoter emailed me yesterday that my dissertation entitled --

"The Obedient Son: An Evaluation of Some Evangelical Teaching On The Eternal Role Subordination Of The Son Through A Comparison Of That Teaching With Related Doctrines"--

after an evaluation by professors from two other universities and himself has been accepted as meeting the requirements for the degree Doctor of Theology (in Systematic Theology). I will have to make some corrections and mail back bound copies to Unizul.

I discovered the option of doing research only doctorates ,and was encouraged in doing mine, by the friends here at degreeinfo. Thanks to all of you.

Presently I am looking at venues to infect the evangelical world with my dogma  and pursuant to that have been offered the opportunity to do a one day lecture on Christology to a seminary Theology class in Sacramento in Feb.

    Thanks again,

    Thanks much.

I feel so good that it's done. My wife thought that I'd be let down. But after more than a month (mailed it to SA Oct 15) I'm not let down--I'm let loose , not in the sense that I don't yet study, but in the sense that the dissertation provides direction for further research and application in my studies.

Well, Bill, it's time to take out the words "in progress" from your online signature.

Thankyou Bill. I'll have to confess that I wasn't always sure that I'd get done writing or even if I did finish the dissertation that it would be good enough to be accepted. Frankly I do not think that I would have been successful without the support of you good folks here at degreeinfo. When I was discouraged I always had here a place to find encouragement.

Thanks Dave. Actually I don't think I'll put it with TREN and by doing that give TREN rights to it. . My ThM thesis is there, but I may wish to put my dissertation in a more popular form in a book. The local reader (PhD Dallas) thinks that I should.

I will say this: The ThM thesis, for which I rec'd A's for four semesters, is far below in substance and rigor IMO than is the work I did for Unizul. I guess this is partly because I feel so strongly about the Subject and have thought on it for several years. Then too, like old wine, I just keep getting better:rolleyes:

    Bill,

Right you are, and sign me up for a copy! Perhaps a pre-publication copy...?

I have enjoyed the time I have spent here discussing theology, theological education, and distance education with you and some others. Those just starting out in the field and aspiring to the doctoral level should take note... It CAN be done without taking shortcuts!

    Bill,

Congratulations on this fine accomplishment. You are to be commended for your discipline and tenacity.

My only concern is that Groverian Christology will create the need for yet another ecclesiastical council, one in which to sift through the nuances of your thesis. Who knows, perhaps the Council of Newburgh, or something similar........... :)
