I feel that it is only appropriate to start a thread to thank Tom Brokaw for 37 years of great service to NBC News. He has delivered the news with professionalism and class. He had no preconceived notions and treated the stories that he covered with originality and with style. I will surely miss Tom each evening, and would like to wish him a great retirement. Thanks, Tom for your outstanding service and best wishes on your retirement.

    Hardly!

Even though I have no specifics on hand, I can remember too many times that I have almost yelled at the TV when Brokaw would make EDITORIAL comments or make dogmatic SETUP statements and questions. I do agree that of all the leftie anchormen he is the better one of those three networks. At least he has not stooped down to the low ebbs of Dan Rather with his stubborn blindness that led to his downfall.

Now if we can get Brit Hume to retire, the networks would really begin to start reporting non-partisan news.

Brit Hume is one of the few who accurately point out the stupidity, idiocy, and biases of those on the left and on the right!

He is a very astude professional.

While it was easy to detect Brokaw's political and religous views, he was a very pleasant man who treated all interviewees with respect and dignity.

He was a pretty fair man overall. Too bad Andrea Mitchell left NBC and that Jessica Savitch is no longer with us.
