Australia reviews the definition of a 'university' and 'operating'.

A very important report was handed down on Friday - The Guthrie Report.

This report seeks to amend the National Protocols for Higher Education Approval Processes, and amongst other things, define what is actually meant by 'operating' and the definition of a 'university'. Interestingly, Guthrie recommends that the hosting of a website in Australia constitutes 'operating' amongst a whole range of other criteria.

It makes a good read, and serves as a useful tool for other jurisdictions to develop legislation in order to combat unauthorised higher education provision.
