Love Condi but she's got to get a new do for '08!

If Powell goes then she'll be the next Secretary of State. Hillary Clinton has to be hoping that Condi won't run for President in '08.

Now THERE would be a dilemma for Repubs. Would they actually tolerate, yet alone promote, a black woman as president? As it currently stands, they can point to Condi as an example (thirty years ago we'd say "token") of the right's new ways (in theory). Putting her in the driver's seat, however, is a whole new ball of wax. Personally, I'd love to see it - Hillary vs. Condi. What would be the most enjoyable, though, would be watching Repubs choke on their own "tolerance" and "diversity."

I'll believe it when I see it, and I'll love every minute of it.

I agree that it's unlikely (so many other things could happen) but it's not unthinkable. Frankly, I hope the world does not turn in the direction that makes this scenario necessary. I think we'd all be losers (regardless of the outcome).

Why would this be a dilemna? The GOP isn't the Party that enslaved blacks and tried for years to keep them from voting or integrating the public school system or nearly all other segments of society.

The vast majority of Republicans would love to see Condi Rice as the nominee.

And Democrats would love it as well, since there would be a "certain element" (including many on this board) of the Republican party that would refuse to vote for Rice and would probably run their own candidate, splitting the Republican vote and ensuring a victory for the Democrats.

Now, now...such stereotyping! The last time that I looked, both of the major political parties ran white males on their tickets.

Dr. Rice is highly qualified and extremely popular in her political party. I, for one, would have no trouble supporting her in a presidential race.

    This just in:

President Bush has just named Dr. Condoleeza Rice to replace Colin Powell as Secretary of State. (Jack called it.)

Now she's gonna slap some sense into the French. Meanest chick in town.
