It was a very interesting news clip but I cringe every time I see something like this on the air. For the next few days I am going to field concerned phone calls from my grandmother and my great aunt Judy both of whom will express their grave concern that I have acquired less than acceptable credentials. No amount of explaining how US accreditation works will console them, because of course, the accreditation agencies are fake too.

God bless them I know they are concerned about me but it does get a wee bit old.

watched the piece on 60 minutes. It was good to see John BEar. Well any schools we should be on the lookout for?

Some of these schools though have very "EASY" processes and people should feel wary.

I signed up with Excelsior and I am confident I am on the right path.

    Hey Oherra

Oherra... dude, you're really cool to chat with on this discussion forum about stuff.

I think that Laura Callahan wasn't telling the truth. Anyone in good conscious should know that just doing a 2,000 word thesis is not adequate for both a bachelor's and master's degree. The thing that really made me disbelieve her was when she attempted to get a Doctor of Philosophy degree. She paid over $7,000 for bogus credentials. She should have known that they were not credible documents.

Now, she is out of a job, and her reputation is hindered forever. No matter what she does, it will always be part of her life. I like the part where the reporter asked her if she still goes by "Doctor" and she said no.

I thought that CBS 60 Minutes (Wednesday) could have done more about the overall issue of bogus credentials and tied in the Senate hearings from Senator Susan M. Collins, that committee.

Oherra... I hope that we can keep in touch, and it is cool that you're teaching dude. Later.

In regards to the Hamilton 60 minutes episode. I do not think that Jesus himself has visited that little church set up for the school's tax exempt status. I found it interesting that Hamilton was the only main story. They could do a 24hr episode and still not bring all of the culprits out of the woodwork.

Nice to see John Bear on there. Puts a face to the name.

As for Rina... Excelsior is a good move and at least a safe one at that. I still have not received my evaluation though and it has been 9 weeks. What's going on there?

AS for the Callahan interview... I think she new that she was buying a degree..and the nerve of buying a doctorate after a BS and Masters as well.. hummm

My guess is that she was lying, lying, and lying.

That link's not working for me now, but here's another: Cessna defends CEO's credentials. The company doesn't really defend the credentials, but rather states that they are irrelevant.
