We'll, it looks like BAOU better let Capella, Walden, Jones International, Western Governors, Athabasca, UNISA, Open University of UK and a host of others know that what they have been doing all these years has not been distance learning!

    Hi,

Having no physical campus, Coastline was the first "virtual college."

By 1976, backed by grants from Kellogg and other corporations, Coastline was serving 18,500 students within a 150 square mile area of southern California.

Guess virtual is different than distance. Or is it?

For what it's worth, I wrote a letter to the editor of the India Times citing the Univerities of London and South Africa as 19th century examples of distance universities, and IGNOU as an example of existing Indian institutions.

As I would have said about 30 years ago "Happen!!!".

If you are refering to Coastline Community College then they do indeed have a campus that is spead out over Northern Orange County. There is one of these campuses across the street from one of my clients.

Coastline does have a great on-line course schedule in addition to their B&M offerings.

I will give them a wave for you as I drive by tonite.
