    This is one of the many reasons I am no longer a Catholic. Any member of the clergy, or any other person of utmost trust (cops, teachers, etc) who commit such crimes should have their sentence doubled with no mercy, no parole.

    Under the poor leadership of JP II, the Catholic church has seen scandal no only here in the States, but throughout Africa as well. If he was really serious, he would adopt a "no tolerance" policy -- instead he has allowed his church to cover up and gloss over the evil that some of his Priests and Bishops perpetuate. Forgiveness - perhaps - but only after punishment takes place.
