    Today's article,
    http://home.hamptonroads.com/stories/story.cfm?story=75755&ran=127088
recounts the criminal career of "Dr." Runnels, who runs big color ads in Esquire, and other fancy places, for his Phoenix Therapy addiction treatment.

An article from last April in the Washington Post says "The Phoenix Web site says "Dr. Runnells" has a PhD, and touts the couple's "tremendous clinical experience." The two doctorates he claims are from unaccredited correspondence schools: the American Institute of Hypnotherapy and Buxton University in England."

    Never heard of John Bear?

The link above doesn't mention Buxton, the following link does.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A6595-2004Apr12_3.html

The article states, "..."Dr. Runnells" has a PhD, and touts the couple's "tremendous clinical experience." The two doctorates he claims are from unaccredited correspondence schools: the American Institute of Hypnotherapy and Buxton University in England."

    I hope this helps. ;)

Mr. Hogan, I truly appreciate your contribution to the forum. Your posts have been so perfect though that I've decided that you can't be for real. I'm guessing that you are either Levicoff or even Chip that has decided to bless us all with an early April fools present? I'm looking forward to the grand unveiling.

    Hogan,

    Do you read these posts?

John Bear referred to two articles in his post, one
as today's article and the other as last April's article. Which is THE article referred to in your response that does not make any mention of ...

    Anyway, why bother...?

Meanwhile, back on topic: It seems as though one of these "Doctors" will pop up in the news every few months. Sometimes nothing is done about them, sometimes the next time we read about them they have either been sentenced to some long prison term, or they will have moved to another state and changed their name. And caught again. Then we read about them again. . .
