Online University Consortium Research Indicates Corporate Preference for Traditional University Programs and Graduates Continues to Climb "Companies recognize a marked difference in competency and performance levels of individuals from for-profit versus traditional universities and now search for candidates with quality credentials from schools they value and trust."
What is a "full college experience?" Anyone want to rehash the rigor argument? I believe the people who react defensively to suggestions that for-profit, distance learning institutions raise standards are doing serious harm to distance learning and creating a degree ghetto.
I should have mentioned that the members of the consortium that published this report are mostly traditional universities (exceptions being Fielding and TESC). See http://www.onlineuc.net/accredlist.html
Sounds like another "they said, research proves, studies verify blah blah blah." I wish I had a dime for every incompetent traditional university graduate. It is only one factor, not the holy grail.
This isn't research. There are no data supplied, no methods discussed. It is self-published (with no author). There are some very unscientific comments, like referring to the "failure" of for-profits. Failure? By what measure? Just a broad, unsupperted statement is given. Their conclusions might very well be true, but there is no way to find out.
