Doesn't that kind of "defeet" the purpose of sandals in the first place? I even see this at the beach, not to mention the supermarket, gas station, fast-food joints....everywhere. What's the deal or am I just behind the fashion curve? If people are going to wear socks with sandals, they should at least wear decent socks and not those little white, $1.00 ankle-busters with the three orange stripes around the top. It just looks so funky IMHO.
Wearing socks with sandels is fine for utility purposes. -- conversely -- Wearing socks with sandels is uncool.
Hmmmm Like Starbucks your destined to follow the lead of the Northwest. Actually it has been common here since the seventies. And if your wearing sandals ankle socks would make sense.
God, this is a useful site. But I'm a newbie. Do the sandals go inside or outside the socks? Now I've got to go over to www.sandalsoxer.com and post my question about Berne University.
I agree, it does look out of place! Sometimes, I see these same people who wear socks with sandals, also pull up their socks well above their knees when they are wearing shorts. Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect either, but I just don't get it!! Rich Hartel
I would think that wearing holey socks with sandals is appropriate and makes perfect sense. So hang on to those socks with worn out heals and toes! Go to Wal*Mart and pick up a pair of sandals to go with them. You could even find a pair that would color coordinate with the socks rimmed by orange stripes. Very fashionable.
