By the way, I am curious because I know many people have earn the majority of their credits through exams.

Has anyone earned the 120 need for a degree?

Yes, for my second bachelor's. All by testing. For my first bachelor's, 115 of the 120 credits I used towards the degree were by testing.

What I would do is take a 2- or 3-credit class, then take exams for much more credit, applying them instead of the coursework. For example, I too a 3-credit marketing class, then took the level-2 ACT-PEP Marketing Management Exam, which was worth a total of 12 credits. I took two management classes and then earned 15 by testing.

Sometimes I would just take exams to see if I could pass them. For example, I took the GRE Advanced test in Sociology, got the 39 credits, then applied for the second bachelor's degree.

    General CLEP: 3 = 18 credits
    Subject CLEP: 16 = 54 credits
    ECE: 7 = 21 credits
    DSST: 6 = 18 credits
    TESC 2 = 6 credits
    --------------------------------------
    117 credits completed

1 ECE scheduled at the end of this month: 6 credits

This will complete my BA Psych from Excelsior with 100% of 123 credits earned via testing.

    Notes:
I also took the college math General CLEP, but I can't count it toward my degree due to having too many math credits lower than calculus. I took a fairly large number of tests before I officially enrolled at Excelsior, so not getting credit on only a single test due to a technicality wasn't too bad.

No BA in 4 weeks here, but I would have completed everything within a year if I hadn't taken a demanding job around month 10 and ended up on the 2.5 year plan with only 9 credits remaining.
