    Ugly Person Illness

A very homely person made an appointment with a psychiatrist. The homely person walked into the doctor's office and said, "Doctor, I'm so depressed and lonely. I don't have any friends, no one will come near me, and everybody laughs at me. Can you help me accept my ugliness?"

"I'm sure I can." the psychiatrist replied. "Just go over and lie face down on that couch."

All that matters is that your visit was beneficial and you're now able to share such experiences with us. I bet it feels good to be able to look back and laugh at stuff like that.

    Very funny Blackbird!

I see that you are "In Comps" now for your PHD. So am I. How is your experience with that? Any suggestions on how to organize all the material?

    Thanks.

    To Doc Gina

It is not a breeze, of course. With so much going on in my life right now (two daughters moving to their own place, doing counseling at three sites, teaching at the local college, loving my wife, guiding my boy, trying to sell my house, trying to find another smaller house, and also doing doctoral comps... not easy to balance all. Therefore, I had to do an extension course. We are required to do 6 papers (some in specific topics and others in our expertise area, etc.) and then when they finally all get approved for committee you have a conference call with all your committee simultaneously for one hour. If you pass, you go on to your dissertation.

e-mail me in private and I can give you further pointers if you would like. My e-mail: [email protected]

Are you in Capella's program also?
