Have you heard of the NO-CARB Diet for 2004?

    NO C-heney
    NO A-shcroft
    NO R-umsfeld
    NO B-ush
    and "Absolutely NO RICE!"

This is a diet that will take you successfully through the next election.
Pass it on to your intelligent friends.

Are you trying to imply that anyone who votes for Bush/Cheney is not intelligent? You surely can't be that ignorant.

Actually, the Adkins craze rests on ignorance of the fundamentals. As Michael Fumento has observed, just reduce total caloric intake is all that's needed.

If a "no-CARB' diet gets the job done for you - just do it. Pay attention to the fundamentals.

    It is a joke silly.

BTW: I am on Atkins right now and in just under 7 weeks have lost 26 lbs. On my way back to my 1985 college days of 160lbs. No gut on this guy.

Actually, I think the intelligent ones wouldn't fall for a catchy phrase for voting, but look at the candidates..... I don't think this one will be an issue, though will be an intersting race, like the scream heard around the world, taking out the leading democratic candidate.... politics is intersting.

I haven't been on this board during an election, this will be fun.

The doc scared me when she said she'd put me on insulin if I couldn't do better. Six months ago I gave up 90% of snacks and goodies, but still eat good portions of good food. I follow no diet. Also began long, brisk walks. Waist has gone down four inches and I weigh now what I weighed in 1971. Blood sugar under control and hypertension better too. All from sensible eating and exercise. The only problem I have is my wife gets mad at all the cuties who stare at my hunky body---I wish:rolleyes:

Thanks. Now that I've had my fix vicariously, I won't have to run anyone off the road today.

Bill, was that you the other day with the big biceps and the speedos at the gym????:D :D b:D

Its hard to give up carbs when you are an Italian. However, I follow the weight watchers "Points" plan, which is a moderation of everything. It seems to work for me!

    Sure sounds like me;)

I also do not avoid any particular foods except goodies. Once a week I have a small dairy queen cone dipped in chocolate--yummy!

I've been low carbing for two years. Dropped 30 lbs in three months, and then another 15-20 since then. Holidays are hell, but being 50 lbs lighter feels better than any dessert can. All this with virtually no exercise program (disabled veteran). Nice not to scare kids at the pool anymore. "Mommy, why does that man have boobs?...."
At this point, it's not a diet, but rather a lifestyle. Sure there's the infrequent splurge, but now I find that too much sweet/carbs will give me a headache. My wife's also low carb, and she runs marathon's. Good luck if you are doing this diet this summer.

I now have the same problem - I tried to share a small bag of popcorn with my daughter at the theatre, and I nearly threw up. I am going to start eating more fruit now that my goal weight is fairly near (12 more lbs out of the total of 41 that I had to loose). I am not sure how I got so big - although my bro who is a cop is the same height and build and weighs in at 240 - I am now 173).

I do drink a lot of diet soda and have to pee all of the time - but it is better than hauling around the excess weight. The old lady is taking a new interest in me which is a definite plus ;oP
