Alberta premier Ralph Klein did a silly thing. For reasons apparently unrelated to anything else he released an undergrad term paper to the public. It was criticised for plagiarism. Contrary to what appears in the article, paragraphs were referenced "internet" without specifics. As we do not know the nature of the assignment, everyone is guessing, but freely offering their opinion. The news article http://www.mytelus.com/news/article.do?pageID=ab_home&articleID=1610774 Too bad he gave up drinking - I liked him better as a drunk.
Ya, I know what you mean. There tends to be a correlation between intoxication and competence. It seems that most of Canada's brightest leaders were alcoholics at one time. For instance, John A. MacDonald was instrumental in shaping Canada's future. He couldn't have done it if he was "on the wagon" (just too bad I detest Liberals).
Re: Re: Rey're Badmouthing My Premier As an Albertan, you must be used to that. Yours is the province that other Canadians love to hate, isn't it? Of course, you guys can just smile smugly, secure in the knowledge that yours is the most prosperous province in the country. BTW... Bwa ha ha ha ha! Our Sharks beat your Flames last night. A little payback for that ass kicking you delivered to us in game 2 in San Jose. Anti-freeze.
Re: Re: Re: Rey're Badmouthing My Premier I can't say that a little grief in Calgary bothers me but those damn Oilers missed the playoffs totally.
First time I read the paper was just now. It's just a typical undergrad paper. The credits could have been done better but they are marked without any attempt to claim the work as his own work. The news media sure don't give conservatives a break. Klein, as is obvious from the paper, was a career newsman of the old school. Dredge up the news in the watering holes of Calgary.
School clears Klein of plagiarism charge - Premier didn't cite Internet sources in essay; university rules error was unintentional
