The good things about UoP (as promised)

After bashing UoP so badly the other day, I promised to put write down the good things about the University. IMHO, here they are:

    1. UoP IT's program is structured towards reports, essays, and presentations rather than tests. A definite plus for a hand-on person such as myself. (and seeing my low GMAT score, more of a plus than I had originally thought)

    2. My study group. Great group of people. Out of 7 people, we had only one native person from the Bay Area (me). Two were from other states, the rest from all over the globe from India, Kurdistan, Taiwan, and Afghanistan. Made for an interesting group. I found that a few people in our group didn't pull of their weight, but their understanding of IT technology helped out the group more than their writing or presentation ability.

    3. The first class. Helen Foletta of the UoP SJ campus is da bomb (put in my 14 year old's words). Instead of entering the curriculum aimlessly (like my wife is doing at DeVry who doesn't offer the same course), UoP actually has a class to define what they expect, the UoP standard presentation methods, and MLA. For those of us out of College/HS for a long period of time, a definite good investment in education.

    4. Some of the instructors. Our Networks, Unix, Project Management and a few other instructors were actually "real world" individuals. (who could actually teach).

    5. Getting out and paying off my education! No matter what you can complain about, looking at that diploma makes it all worth it.
