Barring last minute changes (always possible), it looks like there will be a long segment two days hence, featuring the Romanian operation (they went there!), and two of our other special favorites here. You won't see my smiling face (unless they resurrect some footage from their John Gray visit last fall), but I believe they interviewed Allen Ezell and George Gollin, among others.
Inside Edition is a syndicated show, it appears on different channels in each market(see: http://www.insideedition.com/listings.htm). Scheduled for tommorroe: http://www.insideedition.com/headlines.htm
Facinating. Here is a snippit from Inside Edition's website: Friday, May 7 Phony Diplomas Each day thousands of young men and women are spending endless hours hitting the books in an effort to gain a Masters or a Doctorate Degree. But an Inside Edition investigation found that there are some people out there willing, for a price, to dole out phony degrees from non-existent universities. Inside Edition’s Matt Meagher travels to England and Israel in search of answers to a problem that may be more widespread than you think. source
A man worlds apart. The Men are from Mars, Women from Venus guy. He has some degrees of the less-than-wonderful type.
Here's another snippit from the Inside Edition website: COMING UP ON INSIDE EDITION FRIDAY: Want To Call Yourself A Phd? For The Right Price, You Can! Wait Till You See How Quickly Inside Edition's Reporter Got A Master's Degree... Then, A Ph.D! Phony University Degrees For Sale! Inside Edition Uncovers A Multimillion Dollar Scam! Not Bad Hi All I saw the Inside Edition segment on degree mills tonight. It included some pretty detailed info on the Romanian scam group naming many of the Palmer's Green universities. They actually did a Mike Wallace ambush on a guy working for the Romanian group in Isreal. It gave a good overview of the problem of false degrees and people actually in academic and government positions using them to gain employment. One was a professor at one of the UC schools. I've forgotten which one. The reply from the school seemed to defend the fraudulent professor.
One of the intriguing loose ends is that Matt Meagher said that he was later contacted by someone else from the Romanian/Israeli operation who provided more information, but no details given. I've asked Meagher if he will share some of the information that didn't get on the air.
