From the Communist utopia wannabe British Columbia. This is where Trinity Western University had to go to court to have its education students granted licenses to teach because the education authorities assumed that students of a conservative religious school would be predisposed to homophobia.

Interestingly Trinity Western had no anti-gay stance, just anti-fornication.

Canada get smore and more interesting. Sometimes when folks try to get too liberal they end up rather intolerant.

But here in the US due to separation of Church & State a student could not get federal aid to go to school and study ministry, basket weaving sure but not ministry.

It's fascinating to see that the Canadian education system is just as inane as our own in the U.S. Mandated textbook/curriculum adoptions tend to have far more to do with politics and publisher-delivered perks to administrators than with learning and instruction.

Many district/homeschool partnerships appear to work fairly well. Parents get access to resources and districts get full per student funding without most of the costs of education. However, when districts and other government agencies try to "Big Brother" their way into homes, then the parents are far better off with a homeschool consortium (or even a home school support group).

Districts and other agencies that pull the kind of stunts as mentioned in the article are, frankly, stupid, since they are now making "easy money" on homeschooled students.

The research is fairly consistent that home-educated students do as well or better than their public schooled peers in every available measure (including socialization skills).
