    Who cares?

The United States does not need the approval of the rest of the world to defend itself.

Of course, the rest of the world is free to try to stop us, if they feel that strongly......

I do not htink it is the defending that they are complaining about!

Of course it is. Iraq under Saddam presented a danger to the United States (even John Kerry said so, but he doesn't want anyone to remember that), so they were dealt with.

If I were in charge of such things, I would really give the rest of the world something to complain about by stopping all foreign welfare (a.k.a. foreign aid).

I'd continue welfare to countries like Israel.

Agreed with both Bruce and Pugbelly. Homeric goodness is still wise statecraft.

I have an unfavorable opinion of ~ 2/3 of the rest of the world. I certainly have an unfavorable of the UN.

I guess that evens it out.

and, unlike many of the folks who dislike the U.S., I have at least been to their country so as to make a more informed decision. Right, wrong or indifferent, our President is elected to represent us. I will cherish my right to disagree with U.S policies when different from my own but I will also support this country in the face of adversity. And not just because I have sworn to do so....

but because there is no where else I would rather live....

I absolutely agree. I've lived in China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and done extensive traveling to another 13 countries. I love seeing different cultures, people, places, etc. Even though I'm an expat now, the U. S. is still, and will always be, my home, my country, the place I will always return to. Not that I'm not critical of many U.S. policy decisions -- I am. However, no other country I've lived in or visited can beat it, IMHO.
