    Here's the deal,

I just purchased a brand new Panasonic KX-FLB756 fax machine. Its a really nice fax machine if it worked. Ya see, since day one it has left strange marks on the side of my recieved faxes that are evident of a bad drum. I called panasonic, they ran me through some tests, and said we are sending you a new fax machine. I knew this would not fix the problem, but what the hey. I'm a computer technician with an MCSE what the heck would I know aobut fax machines . So they sent me a new machine told me I would have it Wednesday, showed up Thursday. And guess what, I have a bad drum unit. What does Panasonic have to say? Its my fault. Even if it is defective its my fault, and I have to buy a new drum unit. Well, the fax machine is going back to fry's and I am buying a different fax machine.

Had a Canon bubblejet for years and it worked perfectly until it finally cratered.

Bought a newer model of the same thing. The old one had 1 (count them - one) button to push to retreive faxes from memory. The new one has 2 pages of instructions to retrieve a fax from memory. I just unplug the damn thing to get the faxes from memory.

I had a large $200 Panasonic boom box that failed. It was fixed under warranty, but when it failed again two months later (same symptoms), they wouldn't fix it, because it was now out of warranty.

Following an unsatisfactory exchange of letters, I packed it up and UPSed it to the president of Panasonic USA in New Jersey. At least that got their attention. Someone from the executive offices called and asked what why I had done this thing. (I was picturing it sitting on the corner of the president's desk.) I politely explained.

After a few more exchanges, they said I could have one item in their audio catalog for 1/4 of list price. I sold that transferable certificate on eBay for $134 and felt quite satisfied.
