One guy that I knew in Auckland, New Zealand, has a St. Regis University BBA in Management studies. The son of bitch as no formal school qualification and he works as a cleaner and guess what his grade point average on his St. Regis University degree? its 3.75 out of 4. What a joke.

He does not even know the 1st concept of management nor the basic principles of accounting and let a lone never have complete the full schooling life. A school drop out with a GPA 3.75.

When he applied to St. Regis University, one they evaluated his so called life exp. and offered a BBA in Management Studies. Now only life exp he has is cleaning exp, sleeping, watching TV, eating, bogging, driving. That's all I can think of him.

So taking above into the consideration, I can't blame for those teachers who used the St. Regis University degrees for payrise as at least the teachers had formal qualifaction (I hope). Just a thought!!!

So he works as a cleaner.....ok

I met a guy driving a cab that worked as a Doctor in his home country. Is he also a son of a bitch?

While living in NZ I also met engineers, lawyers and other skilled professionals working menial jobs to make ends meet.

During that time I also knew a few individuals with good degrees from good schools that were in my opinion SLOW, but they had the degrees.

    What does all this mean?

    Absolutely nothing.

    Bozzy,

Read what I have typed. I meant re SRU giving a BBA in Management with a GPA 3.75 to a guy who has no formal schooling. who works as a cleaner.

Yes, that is what YOU told us.....it's called hearsay. I can also make up a story, interpret it and sell it as the truth.

    It means absolutely nothing.

no, you're really calling him a liar

    Hi Bozzy,

Migara is describing something he has been involved with directly: he knows the peson with the SRU degree, kinows his background. I don't think that is hearsay: either Migara is lying, or his SRU-credentialed acquaintance has mislead him, or Migara's account is accurate. I do not think any of these possibilities is an example of hearsay.

I do not think the purchase of a Saint Regis masters by Jaime Sarrio (Gwinnett, Georgia Daily Post reporter) is hearsay, or an untrue account, either. Do you?

Just a guy who didn't do his homework.

Just interesting to note that, to some, it is preferable being a cab driver in America than deing a doctor in some countries. You guys must be doing something right.

There you go again, 'Bozzy', trying to divert a thread from issues to personalties.

I don't know whether this NZ story is true or not. I rarely (if ever) can be sure that anything I read is absolutely certain. What I end up doing is kind of informally and intuitively assigning probabilities to assertions.

In this case I figure the probability of the original assertion's truth is moderately high. I have no real reason to doubt the individual who posted it and the information is consistent with other information that I've seen about SRU.

More generally, I think that the likelihood that there are incompetent individuals out there sporting SRU degrees is probably extremely high.

Combine that with SRU's 'flag of convenience' accreditation ploy, and we probably have real cause for concern.

I knew a woman who was a Psychiatrist in the Soviet Union who worked as a Mental Health Counselor here in the USA. This job did not require a college degree of any sort. Her work status was due to her poor command of the English language, which prevented her from getting a medical license. I never had any reason to believe that she was anything other than a good Doctor, just one who couldn't speak English.

Actually I think some people in Canada are considering suing the immigration department for bad advice. The civil servants do not know the fine points of membership in the professions.

A 2 year medical residency has a market value of about $150,000 and are taken up by Canadian medical school graduate, who do not pay.

A Bosnian immigrant doctor joined the army and they found her a residency. She has to serve a few years but at least gets set up.

Ok so he stabbed you in the back, now you are angry and hence he is a SOB with (in your opinion) a dodgy degree.

Obviously he must have told you his life story and therefore I must believe you.

It's not about the degree its about how SRU gave him after evaluating (i dont know what) a BBA in Management with GPA 3.75, a letter of recommentation and a letter of Academic acheivement. What a joke.

Not only in the opinion of Migara, but also in the opinion of the State of Oregon, the State of Georgia, journalists who have investigated this matter, about 99% of the members of this forum, and almost everyone else who has looked into this matter.

The exceptions tend to have some association with St. Regis or another degree mill.

St. Regis was "accredited" by the regime of Charles Taylor, and if you can't trust a genocidal maniac to fairly evaluate a school, who can you trust? Right?

They don't come anymore phony than SRU. What SRU does well is tell the big lie, even better than most degree mills. SRU also seems to be extra active and creative, compared to other degree mills, in searching for angles they can exploit, e.g., Liberian accreditation. I must tip my hat and at the same time hope that the perps end up behind bars sooner rather than later.

    Dear B.,

Your trolling is becoming rather too obvious. Try again.
