Taking a break from CCHS studies and wanted to share this site about the modern day Samaritans.

It's very informative and interesting. The discussion board is insightful.

Hi Jimmy - I've been a bit busier than usual lately and so I've probably missed a few things here at degreeinfo. I was surprised to see that you've enrolled in some new doctoral program because you spent more than a little time describing your withdrawal from the University of the Free State doctoral program (you know, where you said that you didn't really need a doctoral degree, it wouldn't advance your career, you weren't going to leave your current ministry, etc.) Now, only two months later you're enrolled in a different doctoral program. Curious, no? I hope something works out for you someday.

    Hi, Jack,

I am sure you have been very busy with your work and studies.

The main reason I didn't proceed with the Free State was the dissertation. I will have written nearly 40 papers when I finish at CCHS. I have written nearly that many for GSST.

Trinity will allow me to take courses. I will have a major writing assignment at the end of the coursework, but by then I will more than likely feel like writing a paper.

I know I have been somewhat fickle concerning pursuing an accredited doctorate.

I had to finally come to terms with why I want to do it. Am I doing it for myself or to stop the criticism about my Bethany Ph.D.

I finally came to the conclusion it really doesn't matter what others think, so when I saw Trinity is on the way toward accreditation, I saw an opportunity to earn an accredited doctorate.

You're right. I said it won't really advance my career. But, an accredited doctorate can't hurt as one never knows where life will take one.

Anyway, it's always nice to hear from you. I hope your studies are going well. Do you have any plans to visit the Free State?

Well, if this isn't a fine tune, ha! I am in hopes they've changed since you went.

But, if I have to write lengthy papers, so be it. I am tired of applying, being accepted, and then changing my mind.

Whatever the course requirements at Trinity, I will just have to persevere and accomplish the task. So, Trinity it is, for better or worse.

Besides, I find the whole subject of conflict management very exciting. It's rather avant garde as the world becomes more and more conflictual and my years of education, training, and experience in mental health should be a plus as I study.
