okai here it goes now..continue ur opinions here plz...

    i'll begin first:

    'seeking help' said:

"Hi etech - My view of Islam and women does not come from CNN, this would be an incorrect assumption. I have known two American women who followed their "men" back to the countries of their origin, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Both came back sorely illusioned about their mates and their mate's countries and told first hand of their treatment as women in those Islamic cultures.

Even more interesting to me is the women I know in medicine who are from Islamic countries now here and the stories they have told of their homelands, Egypt, Iran, Oman, and northern African nations and how they have been treated by their own religious institutions in their homeland."

Can u please give examples of how they were treated there that sorely illusioned them? And could u please tell those stories you heard of their homelands?

Only after listening to those stories i can answer your post. And yes...please note that Bin Laden claims to be a true muslim while he is not. So if a person is a muslim living in Islamic country, it does not certify him to be a muslim.

Unfortunately..., many many muslims in the world do not practice islam the right way.

And islam is no different...infact islam describes Jesus's qualities in the Quran and islam improves upon what christanity taught the world.

You can call Islam an updated version of christanity. The reason for that update was to correct all the errors in chistanity.

You see now there are so many different Bibles that one really gets confused in which one is the correct one?

Bible was initially sent to earth as a single book teaching the perfect way of life. Then unfortunately, some criminals changed he content of the Bible to accomodate their wishes. The changes got so many that then started to emerge many different versions of Bibles all edited by 'people' or human beings on earth. the Bible was no more a book of God.

Christains and Muslims both believe in One God. When God saw that the Bible has changed alot, then there was a need for one solid book which was truly from God without changes.

And in the Quran, God has taken the responsibility of Quran Himself.

"Surely We have revealed the Admonition (the Qur’ân), and surely We are its Guardian" (The Holy Quran: 15:9)

And God has kept His promise as today you wont find a single copy of Quran that is chaged or that is unsimilar to any other copy of Quran.

Bible has been changed by human beings a lot otherwise Quran and Bible all teach the same thing: to live peacefully.

    Hi codebox,

I welcome your discussion of Islam.

However, I must disagree. Islam is not Christianity, updated. Most fundamentally, as I understand it, Islam denies the divinity of Jesus Christ.

Would you say, the Bahá'í Faith is Islam, updated?

    Hi Charles, you said:

Thats what i said: Islam is updated and it removes wrong claims from christanity.

    See Jesus in Quran:

    Take care. Bye.

Codebox, could you please give some examples of "wrong claims".

    Thanks.

    Hi Codebox

You make two statements that are probably very offensive to Christians.

"...and islam improves upon what christanity taught the world."

"You can call Islam an updated version of christanity. The reason for that update was to correct all the errors in chistanity."

In the western world to improve upon something the original would usual need to be flawed or damaged. While it is my impression that Christianity and Islam share a great many similiar beliefs and foundations to say that Christianity is wrong and Islam corrects the "errors" is a very divisive way to think. I think it is much more constructive to think they are both attempts to find a way to live a life that god would approve of.

I am no way an expert on the Bible and personally have many reservations about it. However, to characterize it as being changed by "criminals" and "no longer a book of god" is again very offensive and inaccurate. To say the Quran has no errors in it would mean it has never been changed in any way or translated to any other language than the original. I don't believe this is true.

I understand you are trying to discuss something that is very personal and sacred to you. It is important to realize others feel the exact same way about Christianity and believe it is more correct. It may be wise to take some time to think about how you could discuss this without unintentionally insulting them.

P.S. While I was raised as a Christian I am now more of an Agnostic and lean towards Buddhism. I find many positive things in the Islamic tradition and others.
