In this article they were dropping theology for more popular courses like film and garden design. Isn't garden design a part of botany and horticulture? What will be next, course in playstation? cbryant
Birkbeck (from whom I obtained a Master's degree) offers a Master's in Garden History. But probably is more interesting than the business, IT, etc. programs discussed here. IMHO, of course.
Being less cynical for a moment, I should comment that Gloucestershire has been revamping the DL courses in the OTC programme (esp. first year). So it is not completely abandoning theology.
Gloucestershire Doesn't seem surprising that horticulture would be a popular course at any university in Gloucestershire - the county is a picture postcard. The British are very fond of their gardens. OTC may have been more successful with resident theology courses if they were affiliated with another larger university. And their evangelical orientation may not appeal not many students.
