There was a discussion on another forum recently about a higher education "Grand Slam." From what I recall, the person involved had 4 degrees from 4 continents in 4 different disciplines (though some were related -- e.g. Business and eCommerce).

To my mind, the "Grand Slam" should comprise 5 degrees from 5 continents (with the U.K. accepted as part of Europe for this purpose only).

Has anyone here achieved (or come close to) such a "Grand Slam"?

Actually, why not 6 degrees from 6 continents?

Interestingly, it appears that some parts of the world consider Eurasia to be one continent and others consider the Americas to be one continent. So the Grand Slam may not be so easy to define.

You mean they haven't heard of the Panama Canal?

At the Association for Education in Journalism national convention in 1961 or 1962 in North Carolina, a speech was given by Professor John Sterling North of Bering Straits University, whose lovely stationery identified it as "the oldest permanent floating seat of higher education in the frigid zone."

    I deny everything.

After seeing Hitler recruited as an evangelistic drum majorette in another thread,
I needed a good laugh. Thanks, John.

For a "grand slam" -- how about getting diplomas from Barrington, Carrington, Farington, and Harrington "universities"? (Don't worry. I won't try to do this.)

Or how about incurring the wrath of the AED troll and Gus Sainz? :D
