OK where do the librarians go?

I have never encountered a survey or poll that factors in library science students. I programmed in VB, C++ .NET, C#. I designed in Cold Fusion, Front Page ( what a nightmare), and my favorite, notepad.

Does that put me in CS?

I can also conduct a reference interview, explain authority of sources, use hundreds of electronic databaes including LexisNexis, Dialog, WestLaw, many from the Gale Group, ReedElsevier, and other big name providers. I can provide reader's advisory service, I can develop a collection suitable to any library- public, special or academic. I can catalog and even fix the photocopier!

Where do librarians fit? We are tired of being left out !
Take us seriously or we will switch all library to the Library of Congress system and then you'll never find anything.
I can also make a mean Margarita which I think I shall go do now.......

I guess under humanities for now. If your degree is in library science that is. If it is in CS, then it should be under CS catagory. I should have thought up the catagories better. Sorry.

I did not mean it was you Dr. Gina, it is every survey I have ever taken left librarians out, except those promulgated by librarians.

    I usually just choose podiatrist.

I could be wrong on this mdoneil, I think that library science could be its own field. I mean...is it a social science? History is. Is an art? Ummm dont think so. Remember, I am typing this post working at a reference desk at HPL. I think it is unique. at least that it what I was told. Could it be fast food??? Ya know answers to almost anything( taxes, voting, city government...)

I presently am working toward my PhD in Practical Theology. The theological disciplines historically have been understood as interacting most closely with humanities subjects like philosophy and historical studies. Thus, it has been common to place theology under the umbrella of the humanities. Practical theology, however, interacts most closely with the social sciences . It involves the "empirically oriented theological theory of the mediation of the Christian faith in society." Yet, by no means is it simply a social science. Thus, practical theology doesn't really fit into any of the categories listed. It is a unique creature.

I'm not sure where my Power Point Certificate would fit, perhaps in the Education category.

    Gina:

You will get a duplicated number if we check a box for each degree. My three degrees (all RA) are in different subjects and I checked three boxes. Did you just want the highest RA degree received ?

Actually, if you have degree's in a number of different fields, I would prefer if you listed all of them. It shows variety.
