Yesterday I mailed my application to a school that I am very interested in doing my MBA at. However I was in a rush when filling out my application. Today I just realized that I put down the wrong date in the academic info section. I accidently put down the wrong date when I started my undergrad studies. Now I'm freaking out and don't know what to do. Should I just leave it and hope they don't notice this when they receive my transcripts? If they do notice it will they contact me to ask me about this or will they just dump my application in the trash can? If they do contact me about this what should I tell them? Will they think that I'm a complete moron when they contact me about this and I tell them the truth? Please help me out.

Don't stress out! You are definitely not the first one to have made an error on your application. Just contact the school and tell them that you discovered an error on your application and that you would like to correct it.

Now, take a deep breath and...

I agree. It's not a big deal. Contact the school and let them know about your error. They probably won't even notice it since schools tend to judge previous academic experience totally on trascripts, but it won't hurt to contact them and let them know about your error.

It's not like you "accidentally" listed a degree that you hadn't earned. You made a mistake, which is certainly understandble. Not a big deal. In fact, probably not an issue at all. However, contacting them about it may demonstrate your inegrity. Or it may be ignored, since this is not a significant issue. Either way, you are doing fine.

Just so, Bo. It's just a typo. Notify them tersely and forget about it. It's not as though you were lying about older degrees or, say, claiming ordination from a nonexistent denomination, or, say, grossly misrepresenting your views to lie your way past some ideological criterion. You'll be fine.
