Online teaching positions advertised on monster.com include several for Adjunct Online Instructors in General Education with ITT Educational Services, Inc. These ads include the following qualifier: "As an Adjunct Online Instructor, you will be responsible for instructing students online and by phone according to program objectives and course syllabi. You may be located anywhere in the United States except California, Pennsylvania and Oregon." Any thoughts on why this qualifier exists?
From what I understand, each state has the standards to have schools operate in their state. Certain times residency of the teachers and students can be excluded in states where they have excluded operation. My two cents.
