There's a big new AP story that appeared in today's Iowa City Press-Citizen regarding the government issuing subpoenas against Drake University and attendees at a November peace rally. Groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union are quoted discussing how the government going after protesters like this hasn't been seen since the red scares of the 1950s. Here are links to 4 other news stories as well:

    Drake subpoenas

    Thanks sldkfal

Very disturbing! I hope the ACLU and the University can convince the US Court of Appeals to quash the subpoenas.

Another four years and a new Patriot Act and this will be a regular occurance under the guise of "National Security".
