Neil Hayes (who claims a Ph.D. from Trinity College and University and was a frequent poster here) has announced on another board that he has been approved to receive a Ph.D. from Knightsbridge. Other posters lined up to congratulate him. The link:

Visiting it is like when Superman ended up on Bizzaro World, where everything idea was flipped around. I've stirred that pot enough--and nothing could top this one anyway.

(French popped up there recently, then got huffy when I reminded him about his little escapade. He maintains that he and Suhar are, indeed banned from Degreeinfo.)

What I find amazing about this is that since Neil has written a text that appears to be of some academic value, his mere payment of a fee to a "school" (in exchange for a piece of paper) seems to provide legitmacy to that school, as far as some people are concerned.

This philosophy is shared my many other unaccredited schools. If you look at St George's University International or Bircham International University, the requirement for earning a graduate degree (MA or PhD) are submission of a paper and the appropriate tuition fees.
These schools will even accept a thesis or report you previously wrote for another institution and award you the degree (not to mention your acceptance into their alumni websites).

Degree by publication - at least a dozen British Universities with royal charters do the same.

Knightsbridge - ain't the best but it is an improvement.

Neil appears to be the foremost expert in the world in his area of expertise.

Rich, don't you get tired of bringing joy to people's lives?

The UK system grants degrees to those who have been leaders in their respective fields. Sure, some of these schools grant doctorates to those who have written extensively and have produced several published manuscripts or research reports.

It's highly unlikely that these same institutions would grant a D.Psych. degree to someone who wrote a 50 page paper on Teenage Mating Rituals back in 1990. Now on the other hand, the unaccredited schools (with their own set of guidelines and policies) probably would.

I believe Knightsbridge should fire their shill, Dr. Marianus, and hire Dennis to run their new marketing campaign. I can see it now…

    Knightsbridge University
Motto: “We ain’t the best but we is better than Trinity College & University (but not, of course, as good as CCU).”

    Neil Hayes?

In our pantheon of apologists for non-wonderful schools, I see FNHayes and Neil Hynd.

I vote for unbanning Suhar and Hayes. It is only fair if we're going to discuss them.

I also admit that I enjoyed their posts. Yes even the one where Dr. Dr. Hayes suggested that Rich get psychiatric treatment. Of course I would have enjoyed it even more if he'd suggested the same for me but, it was a forgivable oversight. :D

Bruce said he never banned Suhar and French; that he changed his mind before doing so.

I don't know that Hayes is banned; is he?

My comment about CollegeHints being like Bizarro World have, of course, raised a fuss over there. Perhaps I mis-spoke. With all their talk about being banned by--and their obvious obsession with--Degreeinfo, it's more like the "Phantom Zone," where bad citizens of Krypton are marooned, ever fated to drift about a universe they can see but cannot touch.

Cocktails and fake doctorates for everyone! ;)

And we would broaden the program to accomodate Gus.

I can see it now - Knightsbridge High School.

You certainly do a lot of slumming over there Rich or is that Rick(easier rhyming)

Uh, why? This doesn't make sense. It seems like for the same amount of effort (and just a little more money) I can get a doctorate from them. :D

That's true. I had my finger on the trigger, then changed my mind when I realized I was doing it in a fit of anger.

FNHayes is still registered...he was here today, as a matter of fact.

Classic example of an ad hominem, gratuitious, and childish remark. Certainly a violation of the TOS.

You got the "slumming" part right, though.
