In Cincinnati, Ohio there sits a school with an actual campus.. (well, it's more or less within the church I believe). Heck, they even have a basketball team... Temple Baptist College. http://www.templebaptistcollege.com Now, the programs are approved by the state of Ohio. But, here's what puzzles me. They are "accredited" by THE Accrediting Commission International, which I know has been the topic of discussion before (unrecognized, etc..) *BUT* Take a look at what the Ohio Board of Education has to say (apparently) about ACI:\ The Accrediting Commission International - an accrediting body fully recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as a regional accrediting agency, accredits all programs. http://www.templebaptistcollege.com/Accreditation.html Interestingly enough, they have obtained candidate status with TRACS: http://tracs.org/candidate.htm Can anyone explain the why's and how's of this?
Here's another Ohio Christian school piece of confusion: This one comes from World Harvest Bible College (Columbus): http://www.worldharvestbiblecollege.org/aboutwhbc.htm And............... Professional Membership and Status World Harvest Bible College is registered with the State of Ohio of Proprietary School Registration (94-11-1408T), is a member of Oral Roberts University Educational Fellowship (ORUEF), and is fully accredited for its diploma program by International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA). The ICAA is division(?) of Oral Roberts University: http://www.oru.edu/oruef/icaa/ Of course, World Harvest doesn't issue degrees as it would seem. It appears as though it's a 3 year diploma.
