It is probably because these schools don't have graduate programs in physics, chemistry, medicine, etc. Union may come the closest if someone wanted to pursue a Union degree in a hard science -- there are not to many in this realm so the odds would be against Union. Maybe a Union grad could pull one off in literature. A few years ago a Nova researcher in the oceanographic department won the highest award in his field. I can't remember the name but it is considered the Nobel of ocenaography. I had reported this on a.e.d. at the time it was awarded. John
