A West Palm Beach judge had earlier today halted review of Limbaugh's medical record for now. The judge however ruled that prosecutors could have access to the records. He is not out of the woods yet. The story is

The pompous windbag will probably blame the Clinton administration for his drug addiction - 8 years of pain !!!!!

He who lives in a glass house does not throw the first stone. Rush definitely lives in a glass house.

And he achieved his success without a college degree.

It's strange that when a Hollywood liberal enters drug treatment (usually for recreational drugs rather than prescription drugs) it's a one-day story but when a conservative has a problem the media keeps it page one for weeks.

The Robert Downey Jr saga is but one example of a recent, overexposed, highly publicized drug treatment involving a Hollywood "liberal".

Downey has been given a "second chance" about 100 times by the court system, and about 10,000 times by the media.

Anyone, liberal or conservative, deserves a chance at redemption when faced with a first-time drug charge. If the person cleans up their act, I see no need for further punishment. Downey has re-offended numerous times, and I'm convinced that the only reason he's not serving a lengthy prison sentence is because of who he is.

If Rush Limbaugh is guilty of the charges against him, I'll be the first to call for his imprisonment. However, I'll also call for the imprisonment of people like Robert Downey, Jr. I really hate double-standards and hypocrites.

Drug abuse knows nor cares about political affiliation, its the political right and left that seem to point fingers. Mr Mega Dittos, who has built an empire on pointing out the faults of others, is having his faults and weaknesses exposed and he is crying foul.

I have actually seen footage of Rush calling for the incarceration of drug abusers.

Prison for merely purchasing pain killers?

"With each of these leaks the media did solemn reports on the possible severe penalties, and the investigation continues, and then they would casually whisper "No charges have been filed." Next, we heard that I was being investigated for money laundering, again leaked by anonymous sources, high-government sources, quote, unquote, close to the investigation. Now, ladies and gentlemen, what happened to all that? Hmm? What happened to all those things? What happened to the drug ring investigation? What happened to the drug trafficking investigation? What happened to the money laundering investigation? Have you heard of them since they were leaked? No. I wonder why? Why haven't we heard about these investigations?"

"Now maybe we can answer the question. Now, these same high-place government sources have gotten permission to see my medical records. Why do they need my medical records? I mean, if they've got a drug ring investigation going and they've leaked all this to the press, and if they've got drug traffic investigation going and they've leaked all this to the press, and they've got a money laundering investigation, why do they need to invade my privacy to see my medical records? The answer is, because they need my medical records to discover, to learn whether I have committed a crime called doctor shopping."

"I'm so tempted to just tell you, but I'm just not going to make their job any easier. But the question is this: Why would any of us want such records made public, even if they prove our innocence? It's not up to me to prove my innocence by giving up my right to privacy. I have to give up my right to privacy now in order for the state who is, in effect, just casting a line out there, hoping to hook something. They've got to invade my privacy to do this. We still haven't seen Bill Clinton's medical records, have we? Has anybody? We haven't seen Howard Dean's records as governor for 11 years in Vermont."

    Of course not!

Prison for being one of the nation's most vocal conservatives who merely purchased pain killers. If indeed he did purchase them.

    Prison

As much as a flaming red like me would like to lock up any tory and throw the keys away. I have to agree with Russell; prison for possession of pain killers is going a bit far. However, it strikes me that if he is in possession of pain killers maybe it is because he suffers pain that doctors for one reason or another are unable or unwilling to treat. Perhaps, therefore if the source of his trouble were dealt with he would not be so sour of temprement on social issues.

    Re: Prison

Sour? - he's downright caustic. Especially if its a liberal thinking issue. Actually if it weren't for liberal thinking individuals this nation would still be part of the commonwealth. MEGA DITTOS.

The United States was never part of the commonwealth of which you write, nor were colonies which preceded it.

No, for purchasing tens of thousands of painkillers. I don't think the human body could process the amount of pills he bought. What did he do with the leftovers?

I assume the extreme left will claim he sold them to school children. Seriously, I don't think anyone has claimed they were for anything but personal use.

Perhaps he was enrolled in Duke University's $100,000 Executive MBA program, making tuition payments by selling oxycontin. ;)
