I did a test search on Earth Science to see what programs would be offered. There were some good schools presented but the site also produced:

    Atlantic International University
    Lacrosse University
    Columbia Commonwealth University

Sad. I also found Columbus University and Pacific Western U.

This would be a valuable site if they threw out the garbage.

I sent an email to the database coordinator.

When I did a search on "Philosophy" what turned up was:
    University of London
    American University in Hawaii
    Arizona State University
    Atlantic International University
    American University in London
    Calamus International University
    Charles Sturt University
    Columbus University
    Dayspring University
    Deakin University
    University of Essex
Fairfax University Flinders University Lacrosse University Lancaster University
    University of New England
    University of Warwick
We could have a little "find the degree mills on this list" contest.

You have about 50% mills in that list.

    Terrible.

I apologize for posting this link.

The link's OK, it's just a "buyer beware," kind of deal. You know... just like the rest of the world.

Thanks to Peter who alerted me to this problem on the StudyLink Distance Learning site.

It is an unfortunate proverb of our times "buyer beware" but it affects businesses as well as individuals. I have arranged for the unaccredited institutions that Peter informed me of to be removed (this should be actioned next week). As an organisation that thrives on its and its partners reputations we would not wish to lower the standard of our sites by having such organisations present.

If anyone notices a "paper-mill" university on any of our sites, please let me know so that we can remove their information.

Thanks and a Happy New Year!
