    It took 15 years, four false degrees and several high-profile jobs in the public sector and academia for the truth about Glen Oakley to finally come out.
    So good was he at living a lie as a high-flying bureaucrat that even his second wife and family believed him.

    The culprit was Director-general of the Department of Business and Regional Development in 1993, chief executive of the Newcastle Ports Corporation, senior management position in the NSW Health Department, currently professor at the University of Newcastle's Graduate School of Business and chair of the university foundation board. . . four claimed degrees, including ther Ph.D., and all diplomas counterfeit.

    ....and again this proves that many institutions and corporations have inept screening procedures for their employees. In the last four years I have seen dozens of people with questionable credentials hired by large, highly bureaucratic government agencies.:(
