I find this article difficult to believe. Even the brightest in society could perhaps graduate from two concurrent degree programs during the same year (DL or on campus). Now on the other hand, if you happen to be a student of several diploma mills....then no problem.

Obviously a lot of time on his hands to be enrolled in all of these programs at the same time. Wondering too if he is independently wealthy or how he is paying for all of these programs?

Closing thought - The ultimate education consumer.

Not necessarily the case. Sometimes having multiple degrees can work against you. Most employers would hesitate to hire someone with five or six degrees. The employee retention rate of these scholars is very low.

My corporation would never hire someone with more than three university degrees. They know that I would be just a matter of time before they got bored of their work and moved on.

Companies do not want to spend thousands of dollars on benefits and perks only to have their highly educated employees walk out the door when the receive a better offer.

...and what a stupid, shortsighted way of looking at talent that is. Says a lot about why American corporations are in the kind of trouble they are, and why workers in general no longer have any sort of company loyalty.

This is my experience also. The word that comes up is 'dilettante'. I list only 2 of my 3 graduate degrees on my company CV to avoid this label.

Aside from the original two bussiness degrees, the article does not state the origin of the other degrees. To put it mildly, I am suspicious. In regards to the staff retention issue that was raised, I can only say that as a person who participates in the hiring of new staff persons, someone who "jumps around" gives the impression of being someone who doesn't know "what they want to do." In this regard, multiple degrees in diverse fields can give the appearance of indecision. Three or four might be explainable, but eight? C'mon, get a life!
