What ever happened to the Floyd Patterson's and Muhammad Ali's of boxing? Seems as if every sport, not just boxing, is comprised of so many miscreants. See http://sports.excite.com/news/10272003/v2330.html
I've had to "take down" some professional boxers in my career, and have found it amazingly easy. They seem to be totally unable to deal with someone who will not only pepper-spray them at the first opportunity, but also will kick them in the groin and do whatever else is necessary to take them into custody. The Marquis of Queensbury doesn't exist on the mean streets.
You're one of the lucky ones. Many years ago when I was bouncing at a local nightclub, I saw this guy take out a cop with his fists and feet. The office tried to use his PR24 baton but it was of no use against this guy who seemed to have his martial art fighting skills honed to a science. Back up eventually arrived and the suspect was tackled and arrested by four other officers (including myself and two other doormen). You are correct to say that the "Marquis of Queensbury doesn't exist on the mean streets" but it seems to me like the "bad guys" are also getting street smart.
