I have two questions about Degree Info's main page. First, in this quote "..an unscrupulous diploma mill operator...," isn't there a redundancy here? Second, I see the words "...now completely free..." when mentioning the degree program search. Was there ever a charge for this service?
Yes, at one point in the history of DegreeInfo, a surcharge was placed on the search for specific degree programs. However, it only applied to degree mill advocates. For example, if someone used the search feature for a school which was guilty of even one of Levicoff's NIFI criteria, the searcher was immediately slapped with a minimal fee. When it was determined many RA/GAAP schools were guilty of some of the criteria, the fee requirement was dropped.
