White males still dominate MBA programs and all the top schools have made it clear that they would like to have more women and people from visible minority groups. The schools admissions staff are constantly monitoring the balance of applicants offered a place so that they can achieve more diversity.

However this emphasis on diversity has led to a lot of complaints among university student's, that women and visible minority groups are having an easier time during the application process.

The final decision on whether you get in to an MBA program in entirely in the hands of the admissions office. This has led to a lot of talk from very upset white males that the admissions office staff might not be as tough on women and visible minority groups during the application process.

Myself being a white male thats applying to a few b-schools, this issue and the way the schools are going about it has raised a lot of red flags in my mind. I also think that the way the schools are dealing with this issue will encourage a very unpleasant atmosphere, where a lot of the white males will look down on the women and visible minority's and feel that they don't really deserve to be in the MBA program as much as they do.

I know the main reason that the schools are doing this is because they want to be politically correct. However if the schools want to be political correct, then what are they doing to encourage people from non visible minority groups such Jews or homosexuals to apply to MBA programs? You don't really hear much about that.

Anyway guys feel free to post about this issue.

When I was doing my MBA at the University of Windsor, my classes were made up of primarily visible minorities. Some were Canadian, but 15% of my classmates were African-American and Latinos who lived in the Detroit area. Some of them lived in residence. The others crossed the border on a regular basis to attend classes.
I honestly doubt that the University of Windsor is recruiting visible minorities into their MBA program in order to be politically correct. These students were admitting because they had good GMAT scores and acceptable undergraduate GPAs.
