I am curious to know how many hours our members spend on the computer (outside of work related duties) surfing the web, ect....
I probably spend 2 hours a day outside of work. My homepage (tomandbetty.com) consists of a bunch of links that I regulary visit for news, weather, hobbies, etc. I check out news and weather in the a.m. & simply poke around in the p.m. Tom
When I was doing my MBA on-line, I spent upwards of 5-6 hours a day. Now I do 1-2 hours a day. Early in the morning I look at the overnight news, the local weather, degreeinfo, and the local obits. As some wag once said, if I don't see my name in the obits then I go to work. Some time after the evening meal I scan CNN news and SI sports, take a quick look at degreeinfo, then it's nap time. I have been a lurker on AED and degreeinfo for several years, but post infrequently. However, this forum played a significant role in my decision to pursue a masters and in my selection of a school. FWIW, last night I had the first of four sessions being mentored in the fine points of teaching adult learners. Yes, this old guy (now 70) will soon be an adjunct professor at a private school. Last week I cudn't spel per-fess-er, now I ar won. My sincere thanks to all you old-timers (age on the board, not chronological), who helped make this possible. Bill Hurd
I spend a couple of hours each week for research and another 20 - 30 minutes on this forum. I try to limit my time on the net. I don't want to become too dependent on the net.
