**Disclaimer: You need to check with the school you are interested in to make sure these courses are acceptable.**
Ok, since I keep asking questions and dredging up old threads, I figured I would consolidate all of the information into large thread. Most of these schools require College Chemistry I and II, General College Physics I and II, General College Biology I and II, and Anatomy and Physiology I and II (usually with Lab). Some require the addition of Sociology courses as well.

Here’s what I’ve found so far and please feel free to add to it. Hopefully this will help others looking for the same info that’s been frustrating me for a few days. The ones I’m listing right now are self paced, but please add the ones you are aware of that are not. I would like for this thread to be comprehensive.

I forgot to add one thing in the last post. Make sure the courses are worth college credit and are NOT JUST CEUs. You don't want to waste your time with courses that are already difficult to find.

Quick question for anyone with any personal experience with this. I listed the above course and it is titled "Introductory Microbiology". If a nursing school has Microbiology listed as a prereq but doesn't specify the level, do you think Intro is classified the same as Micro? I will try and clarify this with the school, but I'm looking for a few opinions.

Micro is one of my prereqs and I'm looking for an independent study, start at anytime, online or print based course for Microbiology, any Physical Science, and a few other courses. This course looks great (price wise), but I don't want to take it if I won't get credit.

I'm curious if anyone, or specifically Cookderosa (Jennifer), had considered Edukan for fulfilling some of the pre-reqs for programs. eduKan Online University | College Online | Degree Programs | Innovating Education

They offer several courses, MicroBio, A&P I and II, Medical Terminology, Chem, etc. and at $130/credit hour, it would be a steal if accepted. Plus, if I understand correctly, the transcript would be from whatever community college you choose out of the 6 that use Edukan (Pratt Community College, Colby, etc.). So, I'm curious if anyone has successfully used it or even considered it?

I haven't but my son and wife goes to NMJC for those classes @ $81 per credit hour.

That is a great option as well.

For anyone looking at what he posted....New Mexico Junior College - Distance Learning

The tuition schedule for out of state students is listed at $60 per credit hour with a general use fee added at $16 per credit hour. Tuition and Fees - New Mexico Junior College

So at $76 per credit hour and a few additional fees, you can take Gen Bio I and II worth 4 credit hours. I'm curious if 4 hours means it contains a virtual lab. You can also take A&P I and II (4 credit hours), Microbiology (4 credit hours), Gen Chem (4 credit hours), Medical Terminology I and II, and Intro to Nutrition (some Nursing schools require this).

I can't remember if they are virtual labs, but they are courses with labs. If you search the schedule for online courses and click on the course to see the syllabus, it'll give you more information.

I looked into Edukan before and I knew there was a reason why I became disinterested, but I couldn't remember why. Some of their science courses are 5 credits. This is not for something like chemistry I and II together, it's for the separate courses. There is also a $115 resource fee for some of the courses. I'm cheap. I know.

Soup- that's the first I've ever heard of Edukan. I really have no idea, and I'm only spit-balling, but if they appear as pass fail (sometimes these "subcontracted" courses are for credit only) then I'm going to say "no" without knowing anything else. You need GRADED CREDITS for pre-reqs no matter what anyone tells you. The default grade for pass is "C" for some schools. That's too great a risk. You need solid A grades with (maybe) one B. A "C" would certainly be unacceptable.
