I am considering applying to the PhD program in psychology and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with that. I'd love to know what you think of it. Thanks.

    Hello

    Hi faith joy,

I see you are new and your thread has 90+ views with no responses. I'm not in psych or NCU, but I'll try to help you a little. Try a search (from the toolbar) for NCU and you will see there are a lot of folks in programs there. Seems like most people here are in the business programs.

We like detailed information, so what is your background and what are your goals for such a program? Make sure the NCU programs meets your requirements accreditation wise.

My understanding is that the course-work is pretty much self-paced independent study, as is (of course), the dissertation portion. Many feel that a for-profit DL doctorate is limited in its utility so do your due diligence as you are.

    Anyway, welcome and good luck.

The subject matter courses are 12 weeks in duration but the research and dissertation courses are 16 weeks in duration. You have a mentor assigned to you who is available to answer any questions about the course. NCU uses the APA citation rules. You can enroll as a non-degree student and take a course before committing yourself to doctorate studies with them. Once you enroll there is a general discussion board with various forums including Psychology Discussion Group and Resources, Organizations, Memberships, and Licensure. I am in the Ph.D. (BA) programme.

I am in the business program. Do you have specific questions I could help with?
