Hello all, I am trying to track down a school and would like some opinions. It is the Lakeland Medical Dental Academy Division of Herzing College. Herzing College is regionally accredited. Herzing College 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 5013 Milwaukee, WI 53203 United States Phone: (414) 271-8103 Fax: (414) 271-1607 Web: www.herzing.edu Institutional Accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA-HLC), The Higher Learning Commission. Now, the Lakeland Medical Dental Academy Division in Minnesota doesn't show any institutional accreditation, just a dental specialized accreditation. 5700 West Broadway Minneapolis, MN 55428 Specialized Accreditation American Dental Association, Commission on Dental Accreditation - Dental Assisting (DA) 5/23/1958 - Accredited They offer these programs at the Minneapolis site: Associate of Applied Sciences > Dental Assisting (AASDA) > Dental Hygiene (AASDH) > Medical Assisting (AASMA) > Medical Billing and Insurance Coding (AASMBIC) > Surgical Technology Diploma > Dental Assisting (DDA) > Medical Assisting (DMA) > Medical Billing and Insurance Coding (DMBIC) What would you consider these degrees? It strikes me as odd, that they are not listed with an instiutional accreditation, given that it's a separate location. Opinions?
Programme specific accreditation by a specialized body is legitimate while the institution as a whole can be accredited by a regional accreditor or even a national accreditor. For example, some schools offering degrees in accounting have AACSB or ACBSP specialized accreditation in additional to the institutional accreditation of RA.
