Hey Gang! My wife is looking for a Marriage Counseling Certificate - she does not have a Bachelor's degree so this is obviously not a post-grad cert... The program should be RA so she could apply it to a Bachelors degree later should she decide to pursue one. Thanks! BM
Hi, I'm not sure there is such a thing. What does she wish to do once she finishes her schooling? Regards, GME
The old "marriage counseling certificates" that were born in the 1930's have not existed for years, because the field is now "marriage and family therapy" and requires a master's degree or doctorate and a professional license to practice. West Virginia and Montana are the only states that do not license LMFT's yet, and this will surely change soon.
How about a certificate in human services from Louisiana State University. The program includes a course in marriage and family. The Undergrad Courses are transferable and inexpensive. http://www.is.lsu.edu/CreditCertificateProg.asp?nid=103&Level=CO&Online=1
