I am amazed with the feedback from this board and figured I would post my question this time. I am interested in Walden's PhD Organizational Psychology program and was hoping to get some feedback from some that have/are attending one of the psych programs. I did search this and read through some fabulous feedback on Walden but did not see much on the Psych programs so I figured I would ask about it. Thanks in advance for any insight. Rich
Have you considered also Capella University? https://www.capella.edu/schools_programs/psychology/psychology_index.aspx
I did actually try one class there, butwas dissatisfied with their "online classroom" environment. Their software was very cumbersome and difficult to navigate. Probably my personal preference on that one, since I am an online adjunct for a few universities. Thanks for the option though. Rich
Blackbird - oh.....my.....gosh. You used the evil "C" word on this forum. O.K. campers............sit back, buckle your seat belts and let the Capella bashing begin.
That's right, Degree Info loves to go on the attack. Just ask NCU, UMUC, Capella, Touro, AMU, and Rich Douglas!
I've not seen any Capella bashing on here in the last seven months that I've been a member. Perhaps this forum has changed in the last few months/years.
Every time I read about Capella bashing it is a post such as this one predicting that Capella bashing is about to begin and not in reply to any particular bashing. So, now I must ask, what's the deal with baiting for Capella bashing? Particularly in a thread that isn't about Capella...
All Could we please not discuss Capella with this thread? I am most interested in Walden Psych experience not Capella. Thanks Rich
Rich, I am kind of surprised by the lack of responses concerning Walden’s PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Organizational Psychology. I guess not many Walden students view this forum. When I looked into PhD programs, I considered Walden but ruled them out due to cost. But, prior to ruling them out, I asked former and current Walden PhD students for their experiences and opinions. This was at a time prior to my knowledge of this forum, so finding former and current Walden PhD students wasn’t straight forward. I did Google searches for former and current Walden PhD students. I found a few, went to their web sites, got email addresses, and emailed questions directly to those students. A couple of them responded and had good things to say about Walden, but I don’t have the specifics of their replies at this time. You could also email Walden and get a few names and email addresses of people willing to discuss their experiences with Walden. But keep in mind; these students will more than likely have been screened by the university so you will hear only good things. On another note, NCU also offers a PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in case you are interested.
I did a quick search on LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com) and found a few people who have completed (or are currently attending) the Walden Psychology PhD program. I can assit you in contacting them if you'd like...if you want to try LinkedIn on your own, I just used the words "Walden Psychology PhD" and found about 10 people.
Walden I am a Walden Clinical Psychology Student...I really like the school a lot, but like with every other school things could always be better...email me if you want, just something in the subject so I know it is you and not a spammer. Clyde
Every time I read about Capella bashing it is a post such as this one predicting that Capella bashing is about to begin and not in reply to any particular bashing. So, now I must ask, what's the deal with baiting for Capella bashing? Particularly in a thread that isn't about Capella... and your answer is................that is because normally Capella bashing follows the mention of the "C" word. However, when a bandit such as myself mentions the fact that Capella bashing will follow - guess what? It fails to appear. The point is that my reinforcement is intented to bring attention to the fact there are a handful of schools that are favored children - usually the ones where the active participants of this forum graduated - and then there are all the others. Note that the favored schools are usually the self appointed (or annointed) Big 3. I am still perplexed how these 3 were annointed as "Big" but that is another story for another day. Anyway - enough of that and back to Walden..........................
