    Hey Gang,

My wife is an LPN and would like to obtain her RN's - in Nova Scotia she'd have to do 4 years at University - needless to say, she's not interested in that when there are programs out there where she can sit for her RN's after completing an Associates Degree.

Does anyone have a list of schools that offer Associates Degrees in Nursing ? Or LPN to RN Bridge programs? ( not Post RN Bachelor degrees, which a lot seem to be ).

    Thanks!

I would check with Excelsior College. They've got a nursing program and it would probably be somewhat flexible for you.

You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a community college offering the associate's in nursing, which leads to the RN. Check that route, too.

Excelsior is a good option for experienced LPN's and techs, but it is a lonely approach. The school has been doing this for more than 30 years, however, and is pretty good at getting people through it.

After the associate's, encourage your wife to get her BSN. It is a short trip, but essential for career growth. (The MSN is a must, too, for upward mobility, particularly into certain specialities.)

Thanks for the links - I couldn't find anything re AS or ASS for nursing on smwc.edu or tesc.edu, but excelsior looks very promising.

deaconess.edu is another site she's looking into, but between excelsior and deaconess, it would seem excelsior is ahead.

Yes, once she get's her RN's she plans on pursuing a BSN, but it'd be nice for her to make another $10/hr on top of what she's making now for doing essentially the same job.

    Thanks all!
