Online PHD in Counselor Education

Does anyone know if one of these exists in the US, and if so, where?

Capella University (www.capellauniversity.edu) offers PhD programs in Counseling, Guidance Counseling, and School Psychology, if that helps. And Liberty University (www.liberty.edu) offers a PhD in Counseling.

 

Hi Scott - While I think that Ted has given you a good answer, I confess that I don't really know what "Counselor Education" means. Is this a counseling degree, an education degree? Are we counseling people about education or are we educating people about counseling? Or something else altogether.

The counselor education degree is primarily designed to develope doctoral level educators who teach master's degree counselors. A large number of universities offer this degree. The master's degree is the primary degree required for private practice and licensure as a practiioner in most states.

Regents University in Virginai has a primarliy distance counselor education degree.
