I have read a number of messages about Liberty University's MA in Counseling, and am considering going into the 48 hour program. Are there any current students or recent graduates that can comment on their satisfaction with the program, and the quality of the DVDs/videos?

I am a little concerned as I have seen some older posts about poor quality videos.

    Thanks

    You want Master too!

Like me you want a Master in Psychology:) I don't know to much about Liberty, But I'm personally planning on completing my Masters in Psychology at Northcentral University. The school seem to be alright from the way other students of the school say. Now, I've read a couple of post of how some students are not to happy about the way a couple of classes are taught. But I'm not to worried about that since I have been in worse classes taught the traditional way. I have even take online classes that some people gave great reviews about but the classes turned out bad. "So, I've learned it's really to each it's own!"

    me three!

I am looking for a masters psych program as well. I am so confused by the whole thing. I am looking for a degree that will offer me the most flexibility. I have looked into the following program :

but I am just not sure.

I actually want the Masters in Counseling, vs a Masters in Psychology. I also looked at Columbia Southern/UWA and it seemed like a decent program, but I just wasn't sure about it either.

I have a Masters in Counseling from Liberty and I am presently completing 18 graduate hours of counseling from UWA for the purpose of teaching graduate psychology at the local community college. UWA is online and I am very satisfied with the quality. Also, if you decide to go on to a PhD program, or like me, teach at the community college level you can teach either counseling or psychology with the UWA degree. With the Liberty degree you can only teach counseling or Human Services. Doesn't make sense but under SACS that is the way it is. Let me know if I can be of further help.

Thanks Howard. I currently don't want to teach, I do want to get my license though. I don't think UWA has an internship with their program, which I need in order to be licensed in Michigan, so that's why I picked Liberty. How long did it take you to get your MA from Liberty?

I am also considering traditional schools locally, but cringe from the memories of driving home in dark nights with snow and ice when I was working on my MBA. Still, it seems like the local schools have a better way of finding internships, rather than Liberty's method of "finding your own place to do an internship."
