Well, in the latest development in the MIGS/CEU saga, the degree.com site is now completely GONE!!

You go to the site, and you get a 404 error. Of course, this could be just a momentary glitch while Sheila figures out what her latest obfuscation will be, but it seems to be yet another indication of the final death knell...

I guess the next sign will be "Get Your Degree in the Macarena at Degree.com" :D

I wonder if there is any connection between MIGS' final dissapearance and this rather ironic conference announcement:

I get the impression that CEU is a sincere school that really wanted to get involved in DL. So along comes a group from the states that promised to set up everything for them. But the thing become a liability and gradually started to smell.

All I can say is that the hosts of this international conference held April 10 through 12 had some hard-earned and painful experiences to relate, if they were forthcoming about them.

    From the conference announcement:

Theme: "Globalization and Certification of Higher Education"

    Objectives:
    a) To promote dialogue between higher education institutions with the purpose of facilitating the process of academic partnerships.
    b) To establish an open dialogue on the internationalization of education and external certification to support quality in universities.
    c) To promote communication between the various associations of universities with the purpose of achieving the best possible institutional coordination.

The CEU has an arrangement with one of the Indiana University campuses. Arias believed he could work on this and other, future arrangements for the CEU and for MIGS.
