At the meeting of the Commission for Independent Education of the State of Florida Department of Education that took place Thursday and Friday of last week in Tallahassee, MIGS (applying under the name of the Center for University Studies) was ( Surprise! Surprise! ) denied licensure in the State of Florida. Among the reasons for denial is that MIGS (under the guise of Center of University Studies) did not supply proof they are the Centro de Estudios Universitarios of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico as they claimed, that the CEU would be the issuing institution for the degrees, or even that the CEU had the authority to grant such degrees.

DEGREE.COM, LLC / Oxbridge Limited Partnership / MIGS / Centro de Estudios Universitarios / Center for University Studies / CEUGRADUATE.COM / The Center of University Studies Graduate College / The Center of University Studies Campus /Sheila, Bill, Josh, and Enrique, or whatever they are calling themselves these days, can, of course appeal the decision. However, they will first have to decide under what legal name to file the appeal, although anything other than the Centro de Estudios Universitarios (CEU) itself (since that is who they were claiming to be), will, needless to say, probably be denied. (Disclaimer: This is conjecture; I am not an attorney, I don’t even play one on TV.)

I wonder if the powers that be at the CEU in Mexico are aware at all of what is transpiring in the United States. Do they know how their good name is being bandied about? Are they aware of the poor reputation they are acquiring in the departments of education of various states, academia, the press, and with students and the public in general? Would they be surprised to find out about their legal entanglements and that they were active litigants in several jurisdictions? Sure would be interesting to find out… ;)

Unfortunately, this doesn't change a thing. Not one. Oh, except Contreras can update his website.

Well personally I don't believe they have a good name. I have a very difficult time imagining an honest competent school that would get involved with someone with Danzig's past and obvious degree mill attitude. ... Oh wait, ... perhaps I've just demonstrated your point.
