I was briefed on various military education programs like the GI, etc. a while back. But I also heard something about a gold card? So far, I have not seen any vets that have one.

    Any comments?

I have not heard of a gold card. I got out of the USMC in Oct 2011. It may be the fast access card or etc from the Dept of Labor. We were told if we went to the Dept of Labor that card would allow us to cut to the front of the line.

Not a problem. I hope that was the answer you were looking for. If not, I can look into it a bit more for you.

No, you are right. It has to do with priority service or something like. I will check in to this on Monday. Thanks!

    Have a good one!

In many ways, the GI Bill is the "Gold Card' considering the price of education . . .

The line of people at the Dept of Labor. If you went to the Dept of Labor for career assistance or etc, this special "Vet Fast Track" card would allow you to cut to the front of the line.

    Jackson,

How for along are you at AMU? I see your certified in Spanish, excellent. I don't know if you have satisfied your foreign language requirements yet, but you could knock out some sweet credit by CLEP test. That is what I did.

I will finish my last class in December. I have 16 credits in Russian from the Defense Language Institute and somewhere around 40 credits in Spanish from the Defense Language Institute. I was a linguist in the Marine Corps before I was a logistician.

Maybe you must be thinking about a VETERAN IDENTIFICATION CARD, which is access to the Veterans Administration Healthcare system. VIC. Not all veterans are qualified for this card. You have to meet some thresh means test to income you receive. It's kind of like and I hate to say it, kind of like a welfare program for veterans that don't make enough of money and the VA is all they got. Gotta meet certain eligibilities for it. Disabled service connected veterans, go to the top of the line. They use a priority system I think goes up to category 8.
